First Impressions
In terms of build, the product requires very minimum set up/building time. Instructions are clear on how to use safely and set up accordingly. Although the product is extremely heavy, this comes with the quality of the product which looks and feels great.
Ease of Use
Compared to other pizza ovens, the product is extremely easy to set up and use. Clear dials on the front of the pizza oven makes sure you can cook your pizza with the perfect settings, with no guess work which is usually required from a traditional pizza oven. We used the pizza oven outside on this occasion, although the product is perfect for indoor and outdoor dining in case the weather isn’t on your side.
Regarding set up time, the product took minutes to set up, with no mess at all and very little health and safety risks with no open flame which is traditional of wood fired pizza ovens. This also made the process much quicker than usual, whilst cooling down quickly as it was a case of switching off and letting cool down.
It’s important to note, a pizza peel is not included, it is essential for getting your pizza in and out of the oven, so we recommend purchasing one alongside the pizza oven for ease of use.
Cooking Results
Most Ooni Pizza Ovens will cook a pizza from as little as 60 seconds, and the Ooni Volt is no exception. Pizza’s were cooking in under 4 minutes (usually around 3-4 minutes depending on the thickness of the base). It’s vital to keep an eye on the cooking process, as it’s easy for the pizza to burn in certain areas if left in the oven for even 30 seconds longer than needed.
In terms of total cooking time, we were able to cook all 4 pizzas in about 20 minutes which meant the first pizza was still hot when we sat down to eat together.
And the most important factor - the taste test! The pizza tasted great, with all toppings cooked properly and the cheese melted. The crusts would catch every so often but it provided that wood fired taste without the need for a wood fired pizza oven.

Sustainability
In terms of sustainability the electric pizza oven ticks nearly all of the boxes. Once the product has been purchased, there is no need to purchase any of the other extras that would come with a wood fired oven. Any packaging the product arrived in was recyclable, and was fairly easy to fit into our house recycling bin once dismantled.
We also didn’t notice a significant increase in our electricity usage that day, and in total had the pizza oven on for around 45 minutes.
Again something to note, there was no protective cover was provided although given the electric element of the pizza oven, the product is best stored inside so make sure you have appropriate storage or space.
