Today, we talk to Emily Murray, of @pinkhouseliving
My Instagram story…
I set up The Pink House’s Instagram account @pinkhouseliving at the end of 2015, as a way of testing out ideas and images before launching The Pink House blog a few months later. I had no idea that I’d enjoy it so much, or that so many people would want to follow my account. Instagram is incredible for interior addicts like myself – there’s such a warm, supportive community and so much inspiration.
My top tips…
1
Hire a pro
Hiring a professional interiors photographer for a few hours or more when your home renovations are complete is a smart investment. I got the amazing Susie Lowe to shoot The Pink House and there’s no way I’d have received so many regrams from big brands and other influencers if I’d taken the photos myself.

Go pink!
OK, I’m a bit biased, but it’s true; pink is arguably Instagram’s favourite colour, and pink interiors are hugely popular too. I have my own pink hashtag #pinkhouseliving – please use it to share your pink home décor pics – I regram my favourites! You don’t need to plaster your room in pink either (unless you want to) – just a bunch of blush-pink peonies or a fuchsia fireplace (a la @mad_about_the_house) will do nicely.
