This DIY marble canvas is totally on trend, and you can use the colours of your choice to make a customised piece of art for your own home.

You will need:

  • A3 canvas
  • Pouring paints
  • Mixing cup
  • Craft supplies

Step 1

Begin by covering the surfaces you will be working on with a black bin bag, this is to pick up excess paint from pouring. Add your pouring paints into the mixing cup beginning with white and pouring the colours directly onto each other; we used three colours to ensure clear colour separation.

Step 2

Working quickly, tip the cup 180º so that it’s face down on the canvas, allowing the paint to gather at the bottom of the cup onto the canvas. Carefully lift the cup off the canvas to release the paint – you’ll see the beginning of your fluid art.

Step 3

Now is the fun part. Tilt the canvas to allow the paint to spread and cover the canvas. Add more paint to cover any sections that are still bare by either repeating this technique or simply applying the paint straight to the canvas. Leave to dry for 48 hours.
