You will need:

  • Screw top preserve jar, 500ml

  • Paintbrushes
  • Mod Podge dishwasher-safe gloss
  • Liquid hand soap
  • Brushed nickel soap dispenser lid for 500ml mason jar

Step 1

Wash and dry your jar. Mix each acrylic paint colour into the gesso paint. Begin by painting three circle shapes onto the front of the jar in pink, yellow and purple. Add two leaf shapes in green and then paint the remaining jar in blue. Allow to dry for 24 hours.

Step 2

Add a second coat of paint to all the elements but this time add some darker and lighter shades of paint for depth. Allow to dry completely before adding brown dots to the centre of the flowers and use dark green to add veins to the leaves and some sprigs of leaves in the gaps around the design. Dry for 24 hours.

Step 3

Cover the entire outside and base of the jar in dishwasher-safe Mod Podge to make it water-resistant. Allow to dry fully. Fill jar with liquid soap and screw on the dispenser lid.
