We often take little notice of our radiators, seeing them as a functional rather than decorative home feature, but a smart-looking radiator can really add to your home's interior style.
With a fresh lick of paint, you can transform a tired-looking radiator into a wall feature that blends into your room's look, or of course stand out if you fancy a pop of colour. White is an obvious go-to if you want a timeless radiator that'll withstand numerous wall colour changes, but a bold pink, yellow or orange radiator can make for a fun room accessory. To help you find a radiator paint to match your preferred style, we've rounded up a list of the best radiator paints on the market. From funky colours, to white spray cans for efficient application, we've got you - and your radiator - covered.

Do I need to prime a radiator?
Always check your radiator's top coat to see whether a primer is necessary as paints can vary. This may also effect your decision when choosing a radiator paint, as you may prefer to miss out the primer step if possible. If your radiator is in need of some TLC with patches of metal exposed, then we'd recommend a primer to seal the surface.
What happens if I use normal paint to paint a radiator?
The paint's ability to withstand heat is of course a hugely significant factor when choosing a radiator paint, and normal paint can blister, bubble and peel off when exposed to high temperatures. Normal paint - particularly thick paint - may also prevent the radiator from releasing heat, as it could have insulating qualities. We'd always therefore recommend opting for a specialised radiator paint. If you have a particular paint brand that you love to use, it's worth checking whether any of its versatile paints are suitable for radiators - you may be pleasantly surprised!
